Museu Reina Sofia Madrid – Jean Nouvel addition
This addition to the famous Reina Sofia museum, home of Guernica among several hundred other works,  is notable for having been actually named after the architect that designed it – the Nouvel Addition.  It consists of a library, auditorium, restaurant, and gallery space creating a courtyard covered by a large red roof structure.  A grid of openings reflect light and the elements into the unconditioned space.  The buildings below are a discrete collection of objects, the most unusual being the automobile-inspired aerodynamic red auditorium that hovers over the restaurant.
