The Gherkin – it dominates the skyline more with it’s iconic shape than its height. It is more stout and less elegant than I imagined. I always wondered how it met the ground – now I know.

The lobby of the Tate was in the dark this week in preparation for an upcoming film installation by Tacita Dean ( per the rumours).  I had never seen the space lit up with just the glowing balcony boxes.
